Where to Buy GeoTrax Toys for Christmas 2008
Our favorite place is of course eBay and our GeoTrax search engine is working hard for you every day to find and sort all the auctions out. Click here to go to our GeoTrax Search. As Christmas gets closer, there will also be more brick and mortar store options that carry GeoTrax sets on a seasonal basis. WalMart typically carries a few pieces, especially the extra track sets and the push vehicles/character duos. They will also have the new Rescue Tower and the perhaps the new Covered Bridge. Target will also have a few items although they haven't had much selection in the past. Toys R Us carries a wider selection but stock is very unreliable and often is next to nothing by mid December. TRU often has special large packs with bonus pieces and/or minor pieces in different colors. GeoTrax sets have also been occasionally sited at Kohls, although the prices there aren't ideal in this GeoTrax fan's experience.
Where to buy used GeoTrax
Some of the best GeoTrax gifts are no longer available, like the GeoTrax Bayshore Bridge. For used GeoTrax, the best places to look are eBay, Craig's List, and there is an occasional collection listed for sale on the GeoTrax yahoo group. You may also want to ask around among your friends with older kids and see if they are ready to give up their GeoTrax. The GeoTrax toys are so durable that buying them second hand is usually not a problem as far as condition. The only slight drawback to buying used is that you frequently won't receive all the related accessories -- e.g. the exact track pieces that came in the original set. And be sure to check the recall list, there was one Geotrax train that was recalled due to lead paint.
